A variation on the foreign bank scam which was sent via U.S. Mail has surfaced. The requests are now being sent via email. At least two different requests have been received with the reply to different names.
The text of the message is not the same but they arrive at the same conclusion. They need to transfer large sums of money from out of the country into a U.S. bank account. These appear to be the same type of scam as done by the mail. Extreme caution should be exercised in giving bank account numbers, bank routing information etc...to persons you don't know.
Please report any such messages to the University Police if received on campus or to your local law enforcement agency if received at home.
