RAPE is like a pebble dropped into a pond. It's impact, so visible at first, quickly diminishes as
society forgets...leaving the victim ALONE in her pain.
The FORGOTTEN PEBBLE is yesterday's rape, tomorrow's statistic.
The crime of rape is reported so infrequently that society in general is oblivious to it. Until it happens to them, or someone they know and love, it's just another headline, just another crime...that happens to someone else! Our department tries to be PROACTIVE, which is why we like the RAD SYSTEM. RAD is a system of defense for WOMEN. It advocates
real, employable tactics without the time investment, ceremony or mystical concepts of Martial Arts. RAD, however, is NO QUICK SOLUTION in itself, but is a course of
CAREFULLY SELECTED defensive tactics with helpful guidelines for continued personal growth. A person's ATTITUDE about safety and even survival is a PERSONAL THING, and the level of seriousness one has is usually
directly proportionate to training dedication. The R A D objective is to DEVELOP and ENHANCE the OPTIONS of self defense so they may become VIABLE considerations of women who are attacked. Instructors will attempt to provide class attendees with information, tactics, and considerations
which may be useful for various types of abduction encounters perpetrated against women. However, we cannot anticipate all situations or conditions under which this information may be used, nor do we know the specific skills, experiences, abilities or limitations
possessed individually by class attendees. Though we would like to guarantee 100% success with this system, it is impossible. Legal, tactical and moral responsibility demands a realistic approach to such a sensitive issue.
In the real world, the vast number of confrontation scenarios available to the criminal of today
prohibits any guarantee of success.
The RAD system is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
RAD is not a Martial Arts program. Our courses are thought by certified RAD Instructors and provide you with a workbook/reference manual.
This manual outlines the entire Physical Defense Program for reference and continuous personal growth.
The RAD system of Physical Defense is currently being taught at many Colleges and Universities.
The growing, wide spread acceptance of this system is primarily due to the ease, simplicity and effectiveness of our tactics, solid research, legal defensibility and unique teaching methodology.
The Rape Aggression Defense System is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts of techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense/martial arts tactics.
Our system of realistic defense will provide a woman with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance.
We operate on the premise that a spontaneous violent attack will stimulate a natural desire to resist, on the part of the victim (supported by research).
We educate women about "The Flight or Fight Syndrome", while showing them that enhancing their option of physical defense is not only prudent, but a necessity if natural resistance is to be effective.
Safety and survival in today's world requires a definite course of action. We provide effective options by teach women to take an active role in their own self-defense and psychological well being.
